I started yoga in 2010 because I had danced all my life, and had just started an all-consuming corporate job that meant I had little time to move in the ways I loved. Yoga was initially simply replacement exercise, but over the years (via two kids and a mental health crisis) I fell in love with it and am still only beginning to appreciate its incredible depth and breadth. I developed my yoga practice in London, studying with teachers largely from the vinyasa flow, ashtanga and jivamukti lineages. I am still (always!) a student and enjoying exploring practicing with new teachers and styles now in Sydney. Once you are on the mat, there's no telling where it will take you.
I have been teaching online and in studios since 2021, and love sharing this amazing practice with others. It is many things to many people, and there is so much to explore. I would be honoured to be a part of that exploration for you.
I've lived in Malaysia, Singapore, the UK, and moved to Australia in early 2022. Life has taken me in all sorts of wonderful directions. I pursued a childhood love of biology and scuba diving to the somehow logical conclusion of a PhD in marine biology on the Great Barrier Reef; I've played strategic and operational leadership roles in arts and culture institutions large and small. I have often felt immensely grateful that I have been able to immerse myself in beautiful, interesting worlds, whether a coral reef, a theatre, an art gallery, or my young daughter's imaginary tea party. I believe passionately that beauty brings balm for the soul, and connects us all.
These days, when not on the yoga mat, you can find me consulting for arts and culture organisations, mucking about with my preschooler and toddler, and planning my days around good food.
